Nagara river is the major transportation for us
Nagara river is the major river in south part of Gifu prefecture and running through over residential area.
Around the district of upper stream, we can get very good quality materials like woods and bamboos.
People use Nagara river as a transportation to carry those materials to down stream.
We make umbrellas and lanterns from them and sold it to others living around the area of down stream.

The thing is that even most of people in Gifu don't know how beautiful and valuable our culture is
in spite of the long historical back ground we have.
Our mission is that telling people this "story" of Gifu
and to inherit the tradition and keep the beautiful Nagara river with us for good.
